What are Cascading Style Sheets?

Well… lets break it down…

Cascade means =

1. A waterfall or a series of small waterfalls over steep rocks.

2. Something, such as lace, thought to resemble a waterfall or series of small waterfalls, especially an arrangement or fall of material.

3. A succession of stages, processes, operations, or units.

4. Electronics A series of components or networks, the output of each of which serves as the input for the next.

5. A chemical or physiological process that occurs in successive stages, each of which is dependent on the preceding one, and often producing a cumulative effect: an enzymatic cascade.

Style =

Style may refer to:

Design, the process of creating something
Fashion, a prevailing mode of expression, e.g., clothing
Format, various terms that refer to the style of different things
Genre, a loose set of criteria for a category or composition
Human physical appearance
Style (fiction), an aspect of literary composition
Typeface, style is one of the three traditional design features along with size and weight: either regular, italic or condensed

Assignment for Defining Cascading Style Sheets

DUE MONDAY, JULY 9TH

1 – Write atleast 1 paragraph ( 6 sentences) creating your own metaphor for cascading style sheets… Huh? Yah, I said it!! You gotta use your creativity to come up with something (ANYTHING ) that may have similarities to function of cascading style sheets… and I want a picture of it too!!

An example could be: The designer for Akia creates 1 document with colors and dimensions of lime green summer lounge chairs… that document goes on to create 1000’s of lime green summer lounge chairs. The Document from the designer represents CSS, the summer lounge chairs represent an html file, and the broken leg on the lime green lounge chair represents something really upsetting and potentially painful…

2 – If that was not enough… I also would like atleast 1 paragraph (6 sentences) where you research one of the elements on this page in greater detail, where you “lay down the law” with your acumen of high researching ability, detailing your findings.
