INET 2675 Wed Design Business Fundamentals

This course will analyze the mechanisms that make online advertising and marketing
successful. As a class we aim to understand the theory and apply that theory in practical de?nable results.
Students will learn video production software, advertising business dynamics, and social behavior
related with presenting viral content to an online audience. The course content will be collected
and distributed as an streaming online telecast very global consumption. As a class audience we
aim to engage industry executives, professional researchers on the topic of social dynamics and
social theory, a viral web audience, and the community of Casper College.

Week 1 || August 22 – 26th
1 – Class Introductions, learning skill sets
2- Identifying the subject, presentation and discussion of the 5 different possible subjects to choose
as topics. Begin learning about Epidemics. Lecture on Mcluhan: “Turn on, tune in, drop out” ,
“ the medium is the message” , “the global village”.
Friday homework due: research historical roots of selected topic. Find links associated with your
topic, videos, audio. Provide a 6 minute presentation discussing your topic.
Week 2 || August 29 – September 2
1 – Tutorial on how to take a recorded video and place it on youtube.
2 – Learn about social connectors. In depth discussion on Paul Revere and the Revolutionary
War.
3 – Discussion on the studies of Stanley Milgram, chain letters, six degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Friday homework due: Market Research, and viral interviews due. Students must interview
individuals regarding selected topic, generate buzz, learn about the attributes interesting and lacking
interest regarding selected topic. What do people know about your topic? What do the people that
perform your topic want told? Videos will be presented via the web… after they are uploaded on
youtube.

Friday homework due: Identify what will make your concept sticky. Attach a ?uxus epidemic to
your idea. Bring examples (videos, audio, pictures) and provide a 5 minute presentation on the
