BEGIN BY REVIEWING POSSIBLE AVENUES FOR MONOLOGUES:

Comedic Diatribe – speaking and relating with the audience

Personal Narrative – providing a scripted story, revealing an underlying character.

GOALS OF THE EXERCISE:

—– use atleast 2 pieces of found footage, pictures, video, animation etc.

—– the camera remains stationary/static

—– reveal atleast 2 autobiographical attributes about yourself (it can be metaphorical and display in scenery, script, props etc.) if there are 3 people in the group that means 6 biographical elements ( you will be asked to elaborate on them later).

—– capture video with the lab’s or your personal camera and export to an editing computer

—– make sure you take this opportunity to begin learning how to edit, don’t allow one of your members to occupy the editing equipment, you will want to know what your doing for later exercises… (ask questions to ozan, your group members, or your professor if you have any questions).

—– make a video that is atleast 45 seconds and less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds

—– export the video to a quicktime file and upload to the content to the web.
